DGA Statement on Governor-Elect Deb Haaland’s Victory in New Mexico

DGA Statement on Governor-Elect Deb Haaland's Victory in New Mexico

DGA Chair Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear released the following statement on Deb Haaland being elected the next governor of the state of New Mexico:

"Congratulations to Deb Haaland on being elected the next governor of New Mexico and making history as the first Native American woman to be elected governor in the country. As a single mom who relied on Medicaid and SNAP, Deb deeply understands the challenges too many New Mexican families face today. Her experience as Interior Secretary, where she managed a staff of 70,000 and brought thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in investment to New Mexico, has prepared her to hit the ground running as governor. The DGA is proud to stand by Governor-elect Haaland as she continues the important work of bringing down costs, protecting health care, and strengthening public schools for all New Mexicans."

The DGA-backed group Affordable NM spent $2.5 million on ads (examples here and here).
