Events DC Hosts Resource Fairs for Washington, DC-Based Nonprofit Organizations

Resource Fair

Events DC will host the fourth annual Community Grant Program Nonprofit Resource Fairs for Washington, DC-based organizations whose youth-centered programming focuses on sports, performing and cultural arts.

The Community Grant Program Nonprofit Resource Fair began in 2023 to connect District-based nonprofit organizations with the necessary resources to conduct general program evaluations, identify funding opportunities, leverage social media for expanded reach, and draft a winning grant proposal. The resource fair has since evolved to include information from other grantmaking agencies and organizations, along with speakers who can provide technical insight into successfully operating a nonprofit long-term.

The three-hour event will include workshop presenters, panels, and resource tabling. This year, organizers are incorporating feedback directly from registrants to develop a program that addresses their most pressing operational needs. Two separate fairs will be held to ensure accessibility for community members across all eight wards.

Each fiscal year, the Events DC Community Grants Program provides grants to local non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting District youth through programming in the areas of sports, performing arts and cultural arts.

After a rise in applications, in cycle two of fiscal year 2024, Events DC increased the funding amount to $750,000 per fiscal year, distributed in two cycles. In fiscal year 2025, Events DC received the most applications since the program began.
