Weekend lane closures planned on westbound I-64 in St. Clair County

CASEYVILLE - The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that westbound Interstate 64 will be reduced to one lane between U.S. 50 and Illinois 157 in St. Clair County beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, May 15, for underdrain installation and bridge work.

All lanes are expected to reopen by 8 p.m. Sunday, May 17, weather permitting.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
