The City of Palm Bay invites the community to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Fire Station 7 on April 14 at 10:00 AM. The ceremony will take place at 2144 Palm Bay Road, and members of the public and media are welcome to attend.
Fire Station 7 replaces the former Fire Station 1, which was demolished in January 2022 with funding from a FY 2020-2021 Community Development Block Grant. The former station site had remained vacant for eight years and qualified under U.S. Housing and Urban Development regulations as a public facility improvement project serving an area with low- and moderate-income residents. The new station is designed to meet the growing public safety needs of the northeast quadrant of Palm Bay.
The construction of Fire Station 7 represents a continued investment in public safety and emergency response services. The new facility provides modern, state-of-the-art space to support Palm Bay firefighters and enhance their ability to serve residents quickly and effectively. Fire Station 7 also serves as the prototype for future Palm Bay fire stations, helping guide efficient design, construction, and functionality for future public safety facilities across the city.
The construction contract was awarded to W & J Construction Corp. of Rockledge, Florida, during the August 1, 2024, Regular Council Meeting. The total estimated cost for the construction of Fire Station 7 is $7,472,460.
City officials, Palm Bay Fire Rescue personnel, and community members will be in attendance to celebrate the completion of this important public safety project.
After the ribbon-cutting, we invite you to meet the firefighters, command staff, community leaders, and Halo, our therapy K9, and to enjoy a tour of the new station.
