Scott Beaulier, the H.A. "Dave" True Family Dean of UW's College of Business, is one of the experts quoted in a Forbes article about the decision by the Federal Reserve's Federal Open Market Committee to leave the benchmark federal funds rate unchanged. Beaulier says a no-cut decision is, essentially, not neutral; rather, it "reinforces an already restrictive environment" for households and businesses.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's granting of a construction permit for TerraPower's Natrium reactor in Kemmerer is a milestone potentially heralding a new era of nuclear construction, says Tara Righetti, co-director of UW's Nuclear Energy Research Center and a professor of law and energy policy.
