(Houston, Texas) - On Friday, August 28, 2026, Congressman Al Green will join State Rep. Christina Morales and Houstonians for Justice for a press conference concerning ICE-related deaths around the nation, including the death of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston, Texas. Congressman Green will share his communiqué to President Donald John Trump as well as H.Res.1486, articles of impeachment filed against the president for high crimes and misdemeanors. He will also discuss the impeachment process going forward. President Trump needs to be held responsible for his operation of United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as unaccountable, quota-driven paramilitary forces.

Congressman Green is extending an invitation to all federal, state, county, and city elected officials to attend and stand with the community in support of accountability and justice. A copy of the communiqué to President Trump can be accessed online here, and the articles of impeachment are available by clicking here.

Congressman Al Green stated, "I thank State Rep. Christina Morales and Houstonians for Justice, including Johnny Mata, Cesar Espinosa, and Dr. Sergio Lira, for inviting me to discuss the letter I sent to President Trump and the articles of impeachment I filed. President Trump has empowered ICE and CBP agents to act with secrecy and impunity, placing constitutional rights and lives in jeopardy."
