Knoxville Man Sentenced To More Than 10 Years For Distribution of Child Pornography

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - On October 30, 2026, Darrell Moore, 44, currently of Knoxville, Tennessee, was sentenced to 126 months imprisonment by the Honorable Katherine A. Crytzer, United States District Judge, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Knoxville. Following his imprisonment, Moore will be on supervised release for 20 years and will be required to register with state sex offender registries and comply with special sex offender conditions during his supervised release.

As part of the plea agreement filed with the court, Moore agreed to plead guilty to an indictment charging him with one count of distribution of child pornography in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2252A(a)(2) and §2252A(b)(1).

According to court filed documents, in June 2022, during a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) operation, Moore sent videos of children under the age of eight years using the username "supercooldaddy," to an undercover FBI agent. Subsequently, federal agents executed a search warrant at Moore's Knoxville residence. Among items seized during the search warrant was Moore's cellphone containing approximately 40 child pornography images and 62 child pornography videos. Moore admitted to knowingly distributing child pornography to others over the Kik chatting platform.

U.S. Attorney Francis M. Hamilton III of the Eastern District of Tennessee, and Special Agent in Charge Terrence G. Riley, of the Nashville Field Office's Knoxville Resident Agency, made the announcement.

The criminal indictment was the result of an investigation by the Knoxville Police Department ICAC, Knoxville Police Department Special Crimes, and the FBI Knoxville Resident Agency, with assistance from the Johnson City Police Department and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Assistant United States Attorney Suzanne H. Sullivan represented the United States.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood (PSC), a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006, by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
