Hendricks Isle Water Main Replacement Project

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with Murphy Pipeline Contractors to improve the water distribution system along Hendricks Isle. This project include:

  • Installing approximately 7,100 feet of new water main
  • Installing new water and fire service lines
  • Replacing fire hydrants
  • Restoring the area as needed including the roadway, sidewalks and landscaping

Construction begins Monday, February 2, and is expected to be completed in late 2026. Work will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., starting at E. Las Olas Boulevard and heading north along Hendricks Isle. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts

  • One lane in each direction of Hendricks Isle may be closed throughout construction during work hours. Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
  • Access to driveways will be maintained unless work is taking place in the immediate area across from the driveway. Crews will attempt to coordinate with neighbors prior to the start of operations that will impact driveway access.
  • The areas along the two City seawalls toward the north end of Hendricks Isle will be used to store materials and equipment throughout construction. Neighbors are asked to refrain from parking along these areas.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area

Neighbors will be notified of any potential temporary service interruptions that may be necessary during construction. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Updates will be shared throughout construction on the City's website at ftlcity.info/hendricks.
