IRFA Applauds Iowa Delegation’s Call to Restore Waived RFS Gallons

Representatives Hinson, Miller-Meeks, Feenstra, and Nunn urge EPA to act quickly and fully restore lost renewable fuel volumes.

WEST DES MOINES, IA - Today, Iowa Representatives Ashley Hinson, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Randy Feenstra, and Zach Nunn joined a group of bipartisan colleagues to urge EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and Energy Secretary Chris Wright to preserve the integrity of the Renewable Fuel Standard by fully reallocating volumes lost to recent refinery exemptions. The letter calls on EPA to issue a supplemental rule by October 15 to keep implementation on schedule and to provide certainty to biofuels producers.

IRFA Executive Director Monte Shaw issued the following statement:

"IRFA appreciates Reps. Hinson, Miller-Meeks, Feenstra, and Nunn for once again standing up for Iowa farmers and biofuel producers. The Renewable Fuel Standard only works when every gallon promised is delivered, and that means fully restoring the volumes lost to these refinery exemptions. EPA must act without delay to provide certainty for farmers, support rural economies, and ensure consumers continue to benefit from lower-cost, American-made renewable fuels."
