The City of Grand Prairie recently received two international awards from the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA), an organization that supports festival and event professionals around the world.
The Main Street Fest Instagram page received a Gold Award for Best Instagram Site in the $50,000 to $500,000 budget category.
The award recognizes the festival's engaging digital presence and the work that goes into connecting residents and visitors with one of Grand Prairie's most popular community events.
Through photos, videos, event information, and behind-the-scenes content, the Main Street Fest social media channels help build excitement for the annual celebration.
Main Street Fest brings the community together each year for three days of live entertainment, carnival rides, arts and crafts vendors, food, family activities, and more. This year's festival is set for October 23-25 in Downtown Grand Prairie.
The City also received a Bronze Award for Best Educational Program in the under-$50,000 budget category for Nature Club, a Parks, Arts & Recreation program.
Nature Club give participants the opportunity to discover the outdoors through hands-on, educational activities centered on nature and conservation. Each month features a different theme, with past topics including fishing, geology, and other aspects of the natural world.
Together, the two awards showcase the variety of programming offered by Grand Prairie Parks, Arts & Recreation.
The award is also a reflection of the staff, volunteers, and community partners who work behind the scenes to create memorable experiences for residents and visitors.
