Chinese Ambassador to Malta Zhang Zuo Meets with H.E. Rachita Bhandari, New Indian High Commissioner to Malta

On June 1, 2026, H.E. Zhang Zuo, Chinese Ambassador to Malta, met with H.E. Rachita Bhandari, new High Commissioner of India to Malta.

Ambassador Zhang stated that China and India are two ancient Eastern civilizations, two major neighboring countries, two major emerging economies, and important members of the Global South. Noting that both countries are at a critical stage of their respective national modernization, he emphasized that jointly advancing the modernization process is of vital importance to maintaining peace and prosperity in Asia and the world at large. 

High Commissioner Bhandari stated that the two meetings between Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping in Kazan and Tianjin have charted the course for the development of India-China relations. The High Commissioner emphasized that the return of bilateral relations to a positive track is of great significance.
