Joliet Junior College (JJC) President Dr. Clyne Namuo has been appointed to board of directors for the Illinois Economic Development Council (Illinois EDC), a statewide economic development organization focused on bringing new businesses, jobs and investment to Illinois.
"I am honored to join the board of directors of the Illinois EDC representing Joliet Junior College," said Dr. Namuo. "I view this appointment as an opportunity to strengthen the connection between education and economic development. Community colleges are essential to building the workforce that powers business growth, innovation and opportunity. This role gives JJC a seat at one of Illinois' most influential leadership tables, where we can help shape workforce priorities, strengthen partnerships with industry and advocate for the students and communities we serve."
Dr. Namuo is currently the only community college president serving on the board, providing a unique perspective on the critical connection between workforce development, higher education and economic opportunity.
Illinois EDC collaborates with industry, academic and government partners to position Illinois as a premier destination for business investment and growth. The board of directors helps guide the organizations in its missions to attract more investment, jobs and economic opportunities to the state.
Dr. Namuo serves on numerous local and regional boards and works closely with workforce needs in ways that reflect JJC's mission to inspire learning and transform lives.
