New Executive Committee Members Begin Terms June 1

At its March 25, 2026, meeting, the TASA Executive Committee ratified the election of the incoming TASA president-elect as well as the elections held earlier this year to fill regional positions on the committee. The following TASA members will join the Executive Committee for the first time starting June 1 or serve in new positions:

2026-27 TASA Officers

Current President-Elect Roosevelt Nivens, superintendent of Lamar CISD, will become the 2026-27 TASA president on June 1.
Jeannie Meza-Chavez, superintendent of San Elizario ISD, will serve as the 2026-27 TASA president-elect. She currently serves as the 2025-26 TASA vice president.
In January, the committee elected La Porte ISD Superintendent Walter Jackson as the 2026-27 TASA vice president. He currently serves as the representative for Region 4 on the Executive Committee.
San Angelo ISD Superintendent Chris Moran, TASA's current president, will begin his one-year term as immediate past president June 1.

Newly Elected Regional Representatives

Region 4: Paula Patterson, Crosby ISD (two-year term to begin June 1)
Region 6: Jeff Pack, Livingston ISD (two-year term to begin June 1)
Region 8: Bobby Rice, Harts Bluff ISD (two-year term to begin June 1)
Region 10: Georgeanne Warnock, Terrell ISD (two-year term to begin June 1)
Region 12: Chris Skinner, Teague ISD (two-year term to begin June 1)
Region 18: Brent Jaco, Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD (two-year term to begin June 1)
Region 19: Rosy Vega-Barrio, Tornillo ISD (will fulfill the remainder of a term due to a vacancy)
Region 20: John Chapman, Comal ISD (two-year term to begin June 1)

Newly Appointed Executive Committee Members

Dwaine Augustine, Hamshire-Fannett ISD, has been appointed to a two-year term on the Executive Committee as chair of the TASA Member Engagement Committee.
Michelle Barrow, Newton ISD, has been appointed to the Executive Committee as an at-large member and will serve a two-year term.
King Davis, Killeen ISD, has been appointed to the Executive Committee as an at-large member and will serve a two-year term.
Michelle Rinehart, Alpine ISD, has been appointed to a two-year term on the Executive Committee as chair of the TASA Professional Learning Committee.

Special elections to fill vacancies in Regions 2 and 3 will be held soon.

Seats on the TASA Executive Committee representing odd-numbered ESC regions will be up for election in 2027.
