As part of the City's Business Spotlight Program, the City Council on Tuesday recognized Yama Sushi & Grill on the Lake for two decades of serving this community.
After swift action earlier in the day by the Orange County Fire Authority to combat and extinguish the Arroyo Fire near Saddleback College and the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, OCFA Division Chief Cheyne Maule provided an update about the incident and other recent activity in the area.
The Council also received a presentation from Bob Page of the Orange County Registrar of Voters about the upcoming election process as well as an update about recent legislation at the state and federal level from Townsend Public Affairs.
By a 3-1 vote, Council Members awarded a contract to design and create construction drawings and specifications for a future bid for the Marguerite Recreation Center Surface Parking Lot Expansion project. The project would address immediate parking needs and help reduce on-street parking during special events at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex, Marguerite Tennis Pavilion, and the Oso Creek Golf Course.
The City Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Meetings are streamed live on the City's website and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the City's eNewsletter and follow the City's official social media sites for the most accurate, up-to-date information.
