The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) announced a new initiative, in cooperation with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), aimed at encouraging small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to list on the Egyptian capital market.
The initiative introduces incentives to reduce certain listing-related administrative costs for eligible companies, helping ease financial burdens and facilitate their access to the capital market. It forms part of the ongoing cooperation between EGX and MSMEDA to support promising companies, diversify their sources of financing, and promote their growth and expansion.
EGX Executive Chairman Omar Radwan stated that the initiative reflects EGX's commitment to developing the SME market and encouraging more companies to benefit from the financing and investment opportunities available through the capital market. He added that EGX continues to introduce measures aimed at enhancing market accessibility, supporting corporate growth, and expanding the base of listed companies.
For his part, MSMEDA CEO Mostafa Hassan highlighted the importance of the cooperation with EGX in supporting SMEs and raising awareness of the benefits of listing. He noted that the partnership aims to simplify procedures, provide the necessary support to eligible companies, and encourage them to utilize the diverse financing opportunities offered through the stock market.
The initiative also includes continued efforts to raise financial awareness among SMEs and support their readiness for listing, while ensuring that participating companies maintain clear plans for growth and expansion.
The cooperation between EGX and MSMEDA reflects the growing focus on supporting the SME sector as a key driver of economic growth, investment, competitiveness, and job creation.
