Media Invitation: Lithuania’s New Prime Minister to Visit Estonia on Thursday

Stenbock House, 25 August 2026 - Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius will arrive in Estonia on Thursday afternoon for a visit and will meet with Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal at Stenbock House. The meeting will be followed by a press conference at the Statehood House. On Friday, discussions on Baltic cooperation will continue at the traditional informal summer meeting of the prime ministers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, held within the framework of the Baltic Council of Ministers.

"I am very pleased to welcome Mindaugas Sinkevičius to Estonia. Estonia and Lithuania have a very similar view of the security situation in our region. We are both investing heavily in defence, supporting Ukraine and understand how important it is to strengthen NATO's eastern flank. At the same time, we must continue advancing the major projects that connect our countries, above all Rail Baltica. Strong cooperation within the European Union is also essential to achieving our shared goals, including in the negotiations on the EU's next long-term budget. I am also looking forward to the informal meeting of the Baltic prime ministers. Close cooperation between the three Baltic states makes us all stronger," Prime Minister Kristen Michal said ahead of the meeting.

Mindaugas Sinkevičius will arrive at Stenbock House (3 Rahukohtu Street) at 4 p.m. on Thursday. The media will be able to film and photograph the guest's arrival, the introduction of the delegations, a tour of the building, the signing of the guest book and the opening moments of the meeting.

The joint press conference of the prime ministers will begin at 5:05 p.m. at the Statehood House (media entrance via the door at 1 Kohtu Street) and will be held in Estonian and Lithuanian with simultaneous interpretation. The press conference can also be watched via livestream:
