Tina Betz Urban Artist Exchange to Host Hispanic Heritage Month Events

WILMINGTON - Cityfest and the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs announced today that the Tina Betz Urban Artist Exchange will host a series of free performances and events in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Events are free to attend and are made possible through the support of the Levitt AMP Wilmington Music Series. Food and activities will be available at each event beginning at 6 pm and performances will begin at 7 pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket.

Hispanic Heritage Month honors the culture and contributions of Hispanic Americans and is recognized nationally each year from September 15 to October 15. This music series aims to help members of the community learn, appreciate, and enjoy the cultural richness that Hispanic heritage brings to Wilmington and beyond.

Performance Schedule

• September 17, 2025
  Alain Perez: A Grammy-winning artist whose music blends traditional Cuban rhythms with modern jazz influences. His performance promises to be a highlight of the concert series.

• October 1, 2025
  Yilian Cañizares Resilience Trio: Known for their fusion of Afro-Cuban music with classical and jazz elements, they bring a fresh and dynamic sound that has captivated audiences worldwide.

• October 8, 2025
  Los Pleneros de la 21: A celebrated and energetic ensemble that champions the traditional Puerto Rican styles of plena and bomba.
