REVISED: Lane & ramp closures along I-29 in Clay/Platte for asphalt paving, Oct. 6 - Oct. 17

CLAY AND PLATTE COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing asphalt paving operations resulting in various traffic modifications, on Interstate 29 just south of Mexico City Ave. to US-69. This project will take place throughout the summer months and motorists may experience delays through late-October. Traffic impacts will be shared as work is scheduled. Lane closures may vary between nights. All work is weather permitting. Please see below for traffic modifications:

The following traffic modifications will take place, evening and overnight from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM between Oct. 6 - Oct. 17

Overnight Intermittent two-lane closures and possible ramp closures, Oct. 6 - Oct. 10

  • Northbound Interstate 29 between 112th St. and Mexico City Avenue., Oct. 6 - Oct. 10
  • Intermittent short-term ramp closures throughout this time.

Overnight ramp closures from Oct. 6 - Oct. 10

  • NB I-29 exit to Cookingham Dr./Kansas City International Airport, Tues., Oct. 6
  • WB I-435 to NB I-29, Weds., Oct. 7

Daytime one-lane closure with pilot car operations at Roanridge Rd. from 72nd St. to Tower Dr.

  • Sat., Oct. 10 - Mon., Oct. 12

Mobile Operations for Installation of Rumble Strip and Striping

  • NB and SB I-29, Oct. 6 - Oct. 17

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
