Friday Night Lane Closures on SR 8/DL Hollowell Pkwy as Resurfacing Project Begins
METRO ATLANTA - Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will begin a resurfacing project on State Route 8/Bankhead Highway/DL Hollowell Parkway (SR 8) from the Cobb County/Fulton County line to SR 280/Hamilton E Holmes Drive in Fulton County this week. Resurfacing improves the roadway's deteriorating condition.

Weather and onsite conditions permitting, alternating single right or left lanes will be closed on SR 8 northbound and southbound beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 16 until 5.a.m. on Saturday. Crews will begin patching the road at the most damaged locations throughout the project area in preparation for milling, inlay and resurfacing operations. This $1.5 million project is scheduled for completion in spring 2027.
