L.A. County offers emergency rent relief assistance for landlords with unpaid rent

Los Angeles County is offering emergency rent relief assistance to landlords with tenants who are behind on rent, along with in-person workshops and webinars to help property owners determine eligibility and complete applications.

The Los Angeles County Emergency Rent Relief Program allows eligible landlords to receive up to $15,000 per unit to cover unpaid rent, according to information released by the county's Department of Consumer and Business Affairs.

To support applications, the county is hosting a series of in-person information sessions and workshops, as well as online webinars, where landlords can learn more about the program and receive application assistance. A full schedule of upcoming workshops and webinars is available on the county's Webinars & Events page.

In addition to these events, community-based partners working with the county are available to provide free multilingual assistance by phone or in person to help landlords navigate the application process.

The application deadline for the emergency rent relief program is Jan. 23 at 4:59 p.m. PST. Eligibility requirements apply, and not all landlords or units may qualify for assistance.

Landlords seeking assistance can apply now through the county's rent relief program website or review additional program details online.
