DENVER - After launching the micro-site "Con or Marx-ism?" the Colorado Democratic Party is continuing to spotlight Republican gubernatorial nominee Victor Marx's top Marx-isms - reminding voters of his extreme views, reckless behavior and just how unfit he is to lead Colorado.
Day 13: "I'm going to consecrate the state back to God."
Marx spent his years before running for office building up his evangelical ministry in Colorado Springs, convincing churchgoers to funnel money to his tax-exempt nonprofit with his unlikely backstory. He made his fundamentalist religiosity just as central to his gubernatorial campaign, including in an August Fox31 interview where he was asked about affordability:
"Anchor : Just to clarify, okay, you're elected governor, day one. What's the first thing you're going to do to make Colorado more affordable, for both of you?
Marx: Well, I have to bring my faith into this. I'm going to consecrate the state back to God, just like the motto of the state stands for.
Anchor: What's that mean?
Marx : It means, the Latin reference of it, is the fact that, nothing without the providence of God."
Marx brought zero new policy ideas to the gov race, including on addressing the cost of living, but chose to rely on a generic, AI-generated policy platform with fabricated sources. Instead, Marx repeatedly characterized his race as "spiritual warfare" between good and evil. Marx and his supporters also continually shared antisemitic imagery of the Democratic nominee, who is Jewish and has been open about his family's survival of the Holocaust.
