A $5 million multi-year grant will support women's health research and innovation to advance healthier futures for women around the world
LOS ANGELES, Calif. October 30, 2026 - Today, rhode futures fund announced a $5 million multi-year commitment to the Foundation for Women's Health (FWH), expanding its longstanding support for women and mothers into one of the most underfunded areas affecting women: their health. This investment represents the brand's largest single philanthropic commitment to date, broadening its impact beyond direct community support to advancing the future of women's healthcare, while ranking among the largest gifts to an independent nonprofit dedicated to women's health research.
rhode was founded in 2022 by Hailey Bieber and from day one has supported organizations that empower women of all backgrounds. Through the rhode futures fund, the brand is committed to supporting women by investing in initiatives that help remove barriers to opportunity and well-being. Since launch, rhode has partnered with and donated to organizations across the United States to expand access to care for women, support moms, provide capital and coaching to women entrepreneurs, and fund emergency response efforts. Now, Bieber and rhode are expanding that commitment, investing in research that can deepen understanding and improve care while accelerating progress in underfunded areas of study in women's health.
Over the next three years, the $5 million grant will:
"Advancing women's health requires enduring investment, collaboration, and a commitment to addressing the areas that have been overlooked for far too long," said Katy Brodsky Falco, Foundation for Women's Health Foundation Founder and Executive Director. "We're proud to partner with the rhode futures fund to help accelerate research that can expand our understanding of women's health and improve outcomes for women everywhere. Together, we're investing not only in the research needed to improve women's health today, but in the scientists, infrastructure, and long-term funding model needed to transform women's health."
The Foundation for Women's Health is one of the fastest-growing private funders of women's health research in the United States. Its grants support research across the entire female life cycle, targeting critical gaps in women's health and conditions that have historically lacked sustained support. Through research funding, public education, and long-term investment strategies, Foundation for Women's Health is building a sustainable ecosystem for women's health research. And its investments, including the Evergreen Fund, help move discoveries toward treatment and return capital to fund new research.
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for women's health research. While women represent half the population, women's health research remains significantly underfunded, creating an opportunity to accelerate research in areas that uniquely affect women. Increased private investment can help fuel scientific discovery by supporting researchers advancing this work.

About the Foundation for Women's Health:
The Foundation for Women's Health (FWH) is a nonprofit research fund that was created to close the longstanding gaps in women's health research. FWH identifies understudied and underfunded research questions across the entire continuum of the female life cycle, from adolescence through menopause and beyond, and funds the most innovative and impactful research to answer them, with the goal of improving women's lives and advancing gender equity in health.
FWH takes a systems-level approach to women's health, bringing together the nation's leading experts from diverse geographies and disciplines to identify the greatest gaps in research and the studies most likely to create meaningful change. Following rigorous peer review, FWH awards funding to scientists whose work promises real-world impact, then helps translate their findings into care in collaboration with a curated panel of advisors whose expertise spans venture capital investment, entrepreneurship, and policy strategy.
Through its Evergreen Fund, FWH pairs philanthropy with mission-related investment so that successful research generates returns that fund the next generation of studies.
FWH is driven by a fundamental belief that the historic gender imbalance in medical research is not inevitable - it is correctable. FWH's mission is to correct that failure and accelerate the rigorous, evidence-based research, diagnostics, and therapeutics that women have been owed for far too long.
