Traffic Shift on Oconee Connector Begins September 18 for Bridge Construction

OCONEE COUNTY, GA - Weather permitting, Archer Western Construction, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT), will implement a traffic shift on Oconee Connector to accommodate bridge construction associated with the SR 316 at Oconee Connector Interchange project (P.I. No. 0013769) in Oconee County.

The traffic shift will begin on Friday, September 18, at 7 p.m. and will remain in place until bridge construction is complete. The shift will allow crews to safely construct mid-span bridge bents as part of the interchange project.

During this time, motorists should plan for a reduced speed limit of 35 mph and traffic signal adjustments. Motorists should slow down, pay close attention to posted signage and traffic signals, and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
