A humanitarian cargo from the Italian Cooperation landed today in Damascus, aimed at supporting the recovery of the Syrian hospital sector. The flight departed from the UN World Food Programme's Humanitarian Response Depot in Brindisi.
By sending electro-medical equipment, including defibrillators, paediatric ventilators, and ultrasound machines, the Italian Foreign Ministry is providing advanced technological tools to enhance the diagnostic and therapeutic capacity of Syrian healthcare facilities. The medical supplies will be used to support emergency medical centres, helping to ensure quality care and safeguard the health of the most vulnerable populations.
This initiative, requested by the Syrian Authorities, marks a tangible step towards strengthening the country's healthcare system and is a concrete sign of Italy's commitment to supporting Syria's transition from the emergency phase to reconstruction.
