The Global AI Film Award is now accepting applications

Google AI has become a powerful partner for creators across the world, as they use AI tools like Flow and Veo to produce original, engaging content. That's why we're announcing the AI Film Award - an open call for local and global content creators to submit a short film using Google's AI models and tools including Gemini.

The winner will be awarded a prize of USD $1 million by the 1 Billion Followers Summit - one of the largest annual creator events globally, which will be held in Dubai in January 2026.

To be considered for submission, films must align with one of two themes: "Rewrite Tomorrow," which focuses on an optimistic and inspirational view of the future, or "The Secret Life of," which aims to promote inspiring, untold stories from around the globe.

Filmmaking with Google AI

Our AI tools help artists bring their creative vision to life. With Veo 3, our new state-of-the-art video generation model, they can generate videos with audio and across different languages, whether that's the sounds of a busy street or dialogue between characters.

With our filmmaking tool Flow, they can weave cinematic films with more sophisticated control of characters, scenes and styles, to bring their story to life. To generate and edit existing images, they can explore our image model, known as Nano Banana, available on Google Gemini. And that's just some of the Gemini tools at creators' disposal.

How to take part in this global award

Your film submission can be in any language, but must include English subtitles. If you want to submit more than one film, no problem at all! Make sure to submit each entry under the name of one person only.

To be eligible, the film's total length must be between 7 and 10 minutes, and 70% of the content must be generated using Google AI tools and models. This means you can use Google Gemini or any other Google AI models and tools for the core video generation. While you are free to use other software and tools for supplemental editing, they should not be used for the primary creation of the video content.

The application window is now open until November 20, 2025. Submissions will be assessed by a jury of global experts in tech and filmmaking.
