The Ministry of Higher Education commemorated Victory and Independence Day under the theme "Victory and Independence in the Mirror of Knowledge and Art" at Kabul University. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, senior officials from several ministries, university leadership, lecturers, and hundreds of students.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister for Academic Affairs of Higher Education Sheikh Zia-ur-Rahman Madani urged students to uphold Islamic values and serve the country with dedication, noting the sacrifices made for the establishment of the current Islamic system.
Deputy Minister of Public Works Qari Mawlavi Mohammad Younus Rashid shared memories of imprisonment during the occupation and highlighted the sacrifices, hardships, and suffering endured during the struggle.
Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Mawlavi Hayatullah Muhajir Farahi said that victory and independence were achieved through sacrifice, bloodshed, hardship, and perseverance, emphasizing that freedom comes at a cost.
Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Sheikh Abdul Rahman Tayebi called on students to safeguard their faith, beliefs, and values and to contribute through knowledge, language, and the pen.
Chancellor of the Kabul University, Dr. Osama Aziz also spoke about the importance of faith and attributed the defeat of the United States in Afghanistan to the struggle for the establishment of the Islamic system.
The ceremony also featured documentaries and dramatic performances depicting the occupation and the struggle for victory and independence.
