New CCTV infrastructure being installed across Kalgoorlie-Boulder

Published on Friday, 31 July 2026 at 3:07:36 PM

Residents may notice new CCTV poles appearing across Kalgoorlie-Boulder in the coming weeks, as the City expands its public CCTV network to provide additional coverage in key public areas.

The new infrastructure is being installed at seven locations identified through operational planning with WA Police, as part of the City's ongoing partnership to strengthen community safety and support police in preventing, responding to and investigating crime and antisocial behaviour.

The CCTV expansion builds on the City's existing network and will provide additional coverage in important public areas, supporting WA Police with improved visibility to help prevent, respond to and investigate incidents of crime and antisocial behaviour.

The project is a key action identified in the City's Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan 2024-2028, which highlights the importance of increasing opportunities for both passive and active surveillance across the community.

New CCTV infrastructure is being installed at:

  • Collins Street and Maritana Street
  • Bourke Street and Maritana Street (Tower Hotel precinct)
  • Hare Street and Graeme Street roundabout
  • Hannans Boulevard Shopping Centre
  • Roberts Street, Shea Street and Goldfields Highway intersection
  • Roberts Street and Boulder Road intersection
  • Brown Avenue, adjacent to the Renal Centre

The new cameras will integrate with the City's existing CCTV system, providing WA Police with additional high-quality footage when responding to incidents or carrying out investigations.

Installation works will continue over the coming weeks. Some short-term disruptions may occur while crews complete civil works and install the new poles, with traffic management in place where required.

The City thanks residents and businesses for their patience while these important improvements are delivered.
