Georgia DOT Host Virtual Public Information Open House for Safety and Operational Improvements on US 341

HAZLEHURST, GA - The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) is seeking public comment on the proposed The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) is seeking public comment on the proposed US 341 Safety and Operational Improvements Project in the City of Hazlehurst, Jeff Davis County. Georgia DOT is hosting a virtual Public Information Open House (PIOH) by posting information related to the proposed project on an online platform at https://sr-19-w-coffee-safety-operational-improvements-0019613-gdot.hub.arcgis.com/. The purpose of this internet posting is to replace an in-person meeting, while allowing the public to review the proposed project and provide feedback. In an effort to reduce crashes and improve traffic flow, GDOT proposes various safety improvements, including Reduced Conflict U-Turns (RCUTs), median turns, and pedestrian safety enhancements along US 341 from L Street to N. Williams Street in Hazlehurst. This project aims to enhance safety, alleviate congestion, and improve traffic flow along the corridor. All construction activities for this project will be completed within the existing right-of-way, and no off-site detour is proposed during the project's construction. Georgia DOT invites you to review the materials presented on the webpage and submit comments. Comments will be accepted concerning this project through Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
