Latinos are and will continue to be key to America's economic future, according to Latino GDP researchers from UCLA and California Lutheran University, who will share detailed statistics and provide context to the drivers behind this growth at a special briefing on Tuesday, May 5.
The event, hosted by UCLA, marks the full release of the latest U.S. Latino GDP report, which covers 2024. With the 68-million-strong Latino population now generating the equivalent of the world's fourth largest GDP-surpassing Japan- the team will also place their findings within history and in light of the current moment.
The report is the 32nd full-length report by the Latino GDP Project, which was co-founded by David Hayes-Bautista, a distinguished professor of medicine at UCLA.
The briefing, hosted by Univision's Gabriela Teissier, will include time for Q&A and will be followed by a celebration for Cinco de Mayo, with dance and musical performances.
