University of California, Senator Wiener and UAW to host rally for California science in support of SB 895

SACRAMENTO - University of California President James B. Milliken, State Senator Scott Wiener and United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain will host a rally and press conference next week to urge lawmakers to pass SB 895. As UC faces one of the most significant disruptions to its research enterprise in its 158-year history, this bipartisan legislation would place a $23 billion bond to fund scientific research across California on the November ballot.

UC is proud to partner with Senator Wiener and UAW on this effort. Last month, the University formally sponsored SB 895 to help protect and create jobs in California, bolster the state's global leadership in innovation through scientific discoveries, and sustain lifesaving medical advancements.

WHO: UC President James B. Milliken, State Senator Scott Wiener and UAW President Shawn Fain
WHEN: Monday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m. PT
