Nalanda University Scholarship awarded to Bhutanese Students

Embassy of India is pleased to announce award of the prestigious Nalanda University scholarships 2026 to 25 meritorious students from Bhutan. Nalanda University, located at Rajgir, Bihar, is a premier international university established by an Act of the Parliament of India.

The selected students are scheduled to join Post Graduation programmes at Nalanda University in the field of Economics, International Relations and Peace Studies, Ecology and Environment Studies, Buddhist Studies with Philosophy, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Historical Studies, Mathematics, Philosophy among others.

In addition to the Nalanda University Scholarship, the Government of India annually extends Ambassador's Scholarship, ICCR scholarship, IIT Kanpur's Friendship Scholarship (Master's degree in engineering), Under-Graduate GoI Scholarship, Nehru Wangchuck Scholarship, ICCR AYUSH Scholarship and MEA-Forest Research Institute Scholarship.

Extensive educational, training and skill development cooperation remains a key pillar of the special relationship between India and Bhutan reflecting the close ties between the two countries and peoples. We will continue to work for strengthening these ties in collaboration with the Government and people of Bhutan.
