Donations Needed: Three Fall 2026 Blood Drives in Response to Critical Shortage

The New York Blood Center has declared an urgent, unprecedented second summer blood emergency, with regional blood supplies dropping to a critical two-day level. In response, the Stony Brook University Student Blood Drive Committee is hosting three Fall 2026 blood drives:

Friday, September 11, 9 am to 9 pm, Stony Brook Union
The Suffolk County Sheriff's Office and the International Police Association are supporting this blood drive, which is dedicated to our 9/11 heroes. At noon on September 11 in the Union Ballroom, there will be a group photo in honor of our Seawolf family of supporters. Also, the Staller Center for the Arts is donating two tickets to each donor to "Gravity & Other Myths Presents: Ten Thousand Hours" at Staller Center on Sunday, October 18, at 7 pm.

Monday, October 26, 11 am to 8 pm, Student Activities Center

Tuesday, November 24, 11 am to 8 pm, Stony Brook Union

The 20+ year partnership between Stony Brook students and the New York Blood Center has resulted in 37,000 Seawolves donating at campus blood drives. With each donation potentially saving three lives, that's more than 111,000 lives positively impacted, thanks to our Seawolf family!
