Chinese Consul General in Auckland Chen Shijie Gives Interview to Local Media on the United States’ Large-Scale Arms Sales to China’s Taiwan Region

On 8 January, Consul General Chen Shijie gave an interview to Auckland-based local media BNE, during which he clarified China's firm and solemn position regarding the United States' large-scale arms sales to China's Taiwan region and answered questions on cross-Strait relations and other issues.

BNE is one of the largest Chinese-language media outlets in New Zealand, whose principal is a well-known Taiwan compatriot. The outlet has considerable influence among the Taiwan compatriots.
