HARRISBURG - State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) announced more than $3.35 million in School Safety and Mental Health Grant funding has been allocated to school entities across Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan and Tioga counties.
The funding is part of $138.8 million in state funding being made available statewide through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency's (PCCD) 2026-27 School Safety and Mental Health Grant program.
"Making sure our students have a safe environment to learn is one of the most important responsibilities we have," Yaw said. "This funding gives our local schools additional resources to address security needs and provide mental health and behavioral health support for students. I am pleased to see this funding coming back to schools throughout our region."
Funding allocated in Yaw's district includes:
Bradford County - $1,134,181
Lycoming County - $1,580,808
Sullivan County - $127,782
Tioga County - $516,307
The PCCD's School Safety and Security Committee administers programs designed to improve school safety and security, strengthen behavioral health supports, and provide training and technical assistance to schools across Pennsylvania.
