After releasing a 54-page report chronicling every day of RFK Jr.'s costly, chaotic, and corrupt reign as Secretary, Senators Alsobrooks and Wyden continue to build their case for why RFK Jr. must resign or be fired.
September 30, 2025
WASHINGTON, DC - Another week of RFK Jr.'s reign, another week of bad actions that will harm the American people. Senators Alsobrooks and Wyden will continue to release updated actions taken by RFK Jr. and add these acts to their joint report.
Chaos, Corruption, and Costs Continues: Kennedy's Weekly Failings
Below are Kennedy's latest harmful actions (from September 17 - September 29, 2025):
-
Senate Republicans voted down a bill to keep the federal government open, repeal Republicans' more than $1 trillion in health care cuts, and make permanent enhanced premium tax credits that help working and middle-class families buy their own insurance on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplaces. As an affordability crisis for more than 20 million Americans looms large, Kennedy has taken no action whatsoever to prevent these catastrophic premium spikes. If Republicans do not act soon, roughly 4 million Americans will become uninsured, as confirmed by new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analyses secured by Senate Democrats.
-
Under Kennedy's leadership, scientific evidence has been replaced by political ideology and conspiracy theories. Former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Susan Monarez testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Health Education Labor and Pensions (HELP) that she was fired from her position for refusing to pre-approve Kennedy's vaccine recommendations and fire qualified career scientists. Regarding Kennedy's actions, Dr. Monarez wrote, "The stakes are not theoretical. We have already seen the largest measles outbreak in more than 30 years, which claimed the lives of two children. If vaccine protections are weakened, preventable diseases will return."
-
Kennedy and Secretary McMahon of the U.S. the Department of Education wrote a Washington Post op-ed criticizing an Illinois law that ensures access to mental health screenings for students. According to the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ), "Nearly 20% of children and young people ages 3-17 in the United States have a mental, emotional, developmental, or behavioral disorder, and suicidal behaviors among high school students increased more than 40% in the decade before 2019." Despite this, two cabinet-level officials in the Trump administration are actively advocating that children have less access to mental health treatment options.
-
The harmful effects of Donald Trump's and Kennedy's largest health care cuts in history continues to reverberate throughout the country: a Boston, Massachusetts program for people experiencing homelessness is laying off staff and closing a respite clinic; maternity services are being shut down in rural communities throughout Oregon while layoffs at hospitals continue; and a hospital in Athens, Georgia cited Medicaid cuts when ending labor and delivery services.
-
Kennedy's newly reconstituted, handpicked Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted to recommend restricting Americans' access to the COVID-19 vaccine and the combination measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox (MMRV) vaccine. ACIP's recent decisions on COVID-19 and MMRV will restrict access to vaccines, exacerbate confusion among patients, doctors, and pharmacies, and heighten ongoing vaccine misinformation.
-
Trump and Kennedy are spreading inflammatory, unproven claims linking acetaminophen (Tylenol) and autism. Kennedy stood behind Trump as he announced Food and Drug Administration (FDA) label changes for drugs like Tylenol and leucovorin, despite lacking sufficient scientific evidence to support such changes. This represents another step by Kennedy to reshape the landscape of American medicine-absent scientific evidence-to fuel his obsession with autism.
-
Kennedy and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary admitted in a letter that they would be conducting their own review of Mifepristone's safety, citing a new sham study on the drug. Replacing ideology for science in their needless review of this drug could lead to significant restrictions for women seeking care across the country. Over 5 million women have used mifepristone safely since its FDA approval 25 years ago.
-
Kennedy is reportedly considering ways to allow people with autism to seek compensation through the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, despite the lack of evidence connecting vaccines to autism. Such a change could potentially bankrupt the program, confuse parents, and continue to spread dangerous misinformation about the safety of vaccines.
-
On Kennedy's watch, political leadership at the CDC prohibited employees who had approved reasonable accommodations for a disability or medical issue from teleworking, violating these employees' rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
-
Kennedy has lost the trust of the American people. According to a new Washington Ipsos poll, only 42% of Americans surveyed approve of Kennedy's job performance, while 55% disapprove.
