CASE: Frederick Stewart (Case #25FE013386)
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Madison Cloke, Felony Trial Teams
On October 27, 2026, Frederick Stewart was convicted by a jury of assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. The jury also found true use of firearm allegations.
On June 29, 2025, the victim entered a storage unit facility on his bike when Frederick Stewart drove his vehicle out of the facility gate. As Stewart passed the victim, the two exchanged words. Stewart then turned his vehicle around, re-entered the storage facility and drove up to the victim. Stewart exited the vehicle with a gun in his hand and yelled and waived his gun at the victim. When the victim was backed into a corner against a storage unit, Stewart struck the victim one time across the face with the gun. An employee at the storage unit facility called 911 as Stewart fled in his vehicle. The victim suffered a bleeding gash on his mouth. Stewart was located by law enforcement two weeks later. At the time of this offense, Stewart was on parole from an 18-year prison sentence on a voluntary manslaughter with use of a firearm conviction.
Allegations that Stewart has two prior strike convictions for voluntary manslaughter with a firearm and second-degree robbery with a firearm will be determined at the sentencing hearing.
Stewart faces a maximum sentence of 60 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for December 11, 2026, at 1:30 PM in Department 16A before the Honorable Steve White.
