Yaw, Owlett Host Breakfast Meeting on Agriculture

WELLSBORO -Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) and Rep. Clint Owlett (R-68) hosted a "Breakfast Meeting on Agriculture" last week with dozens of participants representing agriculture and agribusiness in Tioga and Bradford counties.

Held at the Tioga County Fairgrounds, attendees included U.S. Senator Dave McCormick, Secretary Russell Redding of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, farmers, agribusiness professionals, FFA students, dairy royalty, teachers and elected officials.

"Each year, the discussion is intended to create a friendly dialogue and exchange of ideas on important agricultural and environmental topics impacting our region," Yaw said. "The meeting is also designed to listen to concerns and answer questions. I am thankful to Rep. Owlett for his partnership on this event and to the agriculture community for their overwhelming interest."

"Our farmers and others in the business of agriculture are some of the most hardworking and dedicated people you'll ever meet," Owlett said. "I greatly value the opportunity to talk with them, hear their concerns and discuss solutions to address the challenges they face as they work to put food on our tables."

The event also featured a discussion on farm legacy and succession planning led by Kurtis Eby of Bare Wealth Advisors and Tony Brubaker of Brubaker Farms in Mount Joy. The conversation offered financial and real-world farming perspectives on how families can proactively plan for the future of their operations.
