First Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Sergiy Kyslytsya, held a meeting with a delegation of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Riksdag of Sweden.
Particular attention was paid to Ukraine's European integration. The Swedish representatives stressed their support for Ukraine's efforts to join the European Union and highlighted the importance of shared rules, criteria, and full-fledged integration.
The discussion also covered the results of the visit of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden to Ukraine last week and the implementation of the agreements reached during his meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The development of capabilities related to the transfer of Gripen aircraft to Ukraine was discussed in detail. In particular, the focus was on the systematic training of Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel. Ukraine expects that the relevant training will begin in the near future.
The First Deputy Head of the Office of the President emphasized that Ukraine's unique experience could be useful for partners in improving the effectiveness of countering aerial threats and in the efficient use of resources.
Relations with the United States were also discussed. Sergiy Kyslytsya stressed the importance of deepening transatlantic cooperation as one of the key factors in Europe's security. According to him, Europe must preserve its agency across all areas, first and foremost in security. In particular, it is important to work on the possibility of producing its own anti-ballistic air defense systems.
International security issues and the negotiation process to end the war were also addressed. The sides coordinated efforts aimed at achieving a dignified peace in Ukraine and agreed to continue coordination to strengthen international pressure on Russia.
