Jackson Neighborhood Center Playground Ribbon Cutting

Last updated on June 24, 2026

WHAT:
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 5 City Commissioner Shan Rose will cut the ribbon to officially reopen the newly renovated Jackson Center Playground.

This revitalization was made possible, in part, by a $150,000 grant from the DeVos Family Foundation through its 30 Grants for 30 Years initiative, in partnership with the Orlando Magic and the original KABOOM! playground project. The renovation includes new play equipment designed for two age groups (ages 5-12 and 13 and older), enhanced shade structures and the city's first outdoor obstacle course featuring fitness activity zones.

As part of the City of Orlando's ongoing investment in neighborhood parks, the Jackson Center Playground is one of 11 park and playground improvement projects planned across Orlando over the next two years. These investments reinforce the city's commitment to creating vibrant, welcoming spaces where families and children can gather, play and stay active.
