MD|DC Young Professionals Summit: Momentum 2026 Recap!

The MD|DC Credit Union Association returned to Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union in Baltimore for its annual Young Professionals Summit, bringing together more than 75 credit union attendees for a day focused on career growth and leadership.

During a panel discussion, experienced professionals shared lessons from their career journeys and encouraged attendees to remain open to new opportunities. Panelists emphasized that growth requires a commitment to learning and the willingness to take risks, even when the next step feels uncertain.

Attendees also participated in an interactive exercise that challenged them to create their own job titles and imagine what those roles would look like in practice. They explored how they would approach their work and the impact they hoped to have on others. The activity encouraged participants to look beyond traditional career paths and consider how they want to lead.

The Summit created space for young professionals to reflect on their ambitions while learning from the experiences of others in the credit union movement. These conversations reinforced the value of taking ownership of one's career and being intentional about the professional one hopes to become.

Giving back to the community was also part of this year's Summit. Attendees collected food donations for a local food bank, putting the credit union movement's commitment to helping others into action.

Through its Young Professionals Summit, the MD|DC Credit Union Association continues to invest in the next generation of credit union leaders and help build a stronger future for the movement.
