The City of North Port Communications Division and the North Port Police Department received several honors at the Florida Municipal Communicators Association (FMCA) annual conference this week. Most notably, both earned the FMCA Certificate of Excellence for the fourth consecutive year, a recognition that reflects continued commitment to the highest professional standards and best practices in public communication.
Three City staff members also earned the Certified Local Government Communicator designation, the first statewide accreditation of its kind. Honorees include Public Information Manager Madison Ingalls, Police Public Information Officer Brittany Kammerer and Communications Manager and Public Information Officer Jason Bartolone. The months-long program included webinars, written essays and practical video projects, culminating in certification and underscoring a strong commitment to professional growth and excellence in service.
In addition, the Communications Division received an Honorable Mention in the FMCA Outstanding Awards for "The Work That Moves Us" video, highlighting the team's creativity and impact.
