Big South Fork Invites Vendors to Participate in 2026 Storytelling Festival

ONEIDA, Tenn. - Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area invites craft vendors, artisans and food vendors to take part in the Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival on Sept. 19. This annual signature special event celebrates the traditions, stories, music, arts, crafts and food of the Cumberland Plateau.

"Haunting in the Hills showcases the people, traditions and stories that make the Cumberland Plateau such a special place," said Superintendent Niki Nicholas. "Our vendors are an important part of that experience, and we invite artisans, craftspeople and food vendors to join us in creating a memorable event for visitors from across the region."

Vendors interested in participating must complete the vendor application process and pay a $25 application fee. Space is limited, and the park encourages early applications.

Food vendors must have a Certified Food Manager on site, as required by National Park Service policy. Vendors must also submit a copy of their CFM certificate, general liability insurance, most recent inspection report and business license for review and approval.

All vendors are responsible for providing their own tent, table, chairs and equipment. Electrical hook-ups and water access will be available for food vendors. Generators are not permitted.

The park also invites vendors to participate in the Blue Heron Ghost Mine Event on Oct. 17. Vendors interested in both events should indicate that when requesting application materials.
