In a momentous victory for Tampa's tourism and hospitality industry, the Tampa Convention Center (TCC) has won the globally-acclaimed 2026 Venue Excellence Award (VEA) from the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM).
The center is among only five venues in the world to receive the 2026 designation, solidifying Tampa's reputation as a world-class destination. The award is uniquely competitive, chosen from a diverse pool that includes sports stadiums, arenas, and performing arts centers.
"Earning the IAVM Venue Excellence Award is an extraordinary validation of our team's relentless dedication and hard work," said David Ingram, Executive Director of the Tampa Convention Center. "To stand alongside the world's best sports venues and convention centers proves that we are setting the standard for excellence in the global meetings industry."
IAVM selects winners based on strict criteria: Operational Excellence, Team Building/Professional Development, Safety & Security, and Service to the Community. TCC joins an elite class of 2026 winners, including the Baird Center, Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Levi's Stadium, and the Seattle Convention Center.
This award will be presented to TCC during IAVM VenueConnect 2026 in Indianapolis August 9-12.
