U.S. Chamber Endorses Rep. Tom Barrett for Michigan's Seventh Congressional District on National Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour

GRAND LEDGE, MICHIGAN - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Rep. Tom Barrett for Michigan's Seventh Congressional District at a free enterprise event in Grand Ledge. Barrett was also awarded the Advocate for American Business award by the Chamber for being a steadfast defender of free market capitalism and his approach to policies that prioritize real solutions for American families and businesses. The event was a stop on the Chamber's Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour, a national six-week bus tour promoting free enterprise.

Rep. Barrett, Neil Bradley, Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer at the U.S. Chamber, and Keith Wright, Treasurer of the Grand Ledge Chamber, participated in the endorsement and award event on Main Street in Grand Ledge. Following the event, Congressman Barrett was joined by Bradley and other area leaders as they toured the Grand Ledge Fall Festival, which featured local and regional merchants.

The U.S. Chamber endorses candidates for federal office who will support policies that drive innovation, grow the economy, and create opportunities for American businesses and workers.

"Congressman Tom Barrett knows what it takes to make Michigan great. A proven leader who has dedicated his career to serving his fellow Americans, Congressman Barrett knows free enterprise makes our communities, workers, and small business thrive. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is very proud to be in Grand Ledge to show our support for Congressman Barrett and endorse him for reelection."

The national Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour is a six-week trip through 20 states and more than 50 events to make the case for free enterprise in communities across America and push back against growing support for government-directed economic policies that threaten economic freedom, opportunity, innovation, and growth.

The effort is part of a broader Chamber initiative, the New Fight for Free Enterprise, a multi-year effort to organize, mobilize, and make the case for free enterprise everywhere public opinion is shaped, public policy is made and future generations learn what it takes for people and communities to thrive.
