10/30/2026 - WCB website enhancement: new and improved search tool! announcement - distributed via GovDelivery email
The New York State Workers' Compensation Board (Board) has implemented a new and improved search tool on our website, wcb.ny.gov.
Accessible from every page of the website, the new search tool produces more accurate, relevant results - fast. Additionally, when users enter a follow-up search question, results continue to be drawn from the Board's website, as opposed to the prior second-level search which pulled results from all New York State agency web domains (providing too many irrelevant results).
The improved search is part of the Board's ongoing efforts to ensure stakeholders can access the information they need. Earlier this year, the Board implemented a satisfaction survey at the bottom of each webpage to help identify any issues and enable website visitors to share contact information if Board follow-up is needed. This feature has already led to several navigational and content improvements.
Over time, the new search tool will get even better, with auto-population of frequently asked questions and search terms, and additional refinements based on satisfaction survey results.
