RAWLINS, Wyo. - Crews with Reiman Corporation will begin repairs next week on the Higley Boulevard overpass, which was struck by a semitruck on Interstate 80 in July.
Mobilization will begin Monday, Oct. 12, and will require the closure of the westbound and eastbound passing lanes of Interstate 80 between mile markers 213 and 215. Concrete barriers will be installed to close the passing lanes, ensuring a safe work area in the median beneath the overpass.
Repairs will include installing shoring, removing damaged concrete, injecting epoxy to repair cracks, and pouring a new concrete column.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits. Motorists are encouraged to obey all posted signs and signals, follow flaggers' directions and other traffic control instructions, and avoid distractions such as cellphones while driving through the work zone.
The project is expected to be completed by Dec. 15. All WYDOT scheduling is subject to change due to weather conditions or material availability.
