New Reports Show Colorado as Top Ten Best State to Work and Top Ten State to Start a Business

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis celebrated new reports listing Colorado as one of the top ten states to work in the U.S and among the best to launch a new business.

"Some people think you can't be a great state to start a business and a great state for workers, but they are wrong. I'm proud that Colorado is extremely friendly to business but also ensures that workers can get ahead. We continue working to grow Colorado's economy and the success of workers is a key part of that. Ensuring that Colorado is a great place to live, work, and run a business is good for our economy and our communities. Our work including skills-based training and hiring, apprenticeships and more are helping more people get needed skills to fill good-paying jobs, a win for workers and for businesses. Driving our economy to even more success means working with everyone to help Colorado get ahead, and I look forward to building on this work until we are number one in both categories," said Governor Polis.

Colorado is ranked #10 overall on the list of best states to work, and is #5 in wage policies. Colorado ranks #1 in the Rocky Mountain Region, with more laws focused on improving compensation and conditions in the workplace.

Colorado is also ranked #9 as the best place to start a business.

Governor Polis has signed a number of laws to support Colorado workers and businesses. The governor has also been a strong advocate for strengthening Colorado's workforce, reducing property taxes for small businesses, and making it a good place for businesses to hire the talent needed to thrive.
