REDMOND, Wash. - Feb. 10, 2026- Amazon Leo, Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite internet network, announced its first maritime reseller agreements with ELCOME and MTN, bringing high-performance connectivity to vessels operating across all major oceans and remote waters worldwide.
Amazon Leo is designed to be one of the most advanced satellite communications systems ever built, delivering fast, reliable internet to a wide range of consumer, enterprise, and government customers around the world.
"Maritime operations depend on reliable connectivity for everything from crew welfare to vessel tracking and remote diagnostics," said Trevor Vieweg, Head of Global Business, Amazon Leo. "Our goal is to keep maritime operations connected, even in the middle of the ocean."
Amazon Leo is built around a constellation of thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit, providing high-speed, low-latency and high throughput connectivity to customers beyond the reach of traditional networks. Every Leo satellite is equipped with optical intersatellite links, forming a mesh network in space and ensuring coverage in areas without a ground station in sight.
Leo Maritime connectivity will provide dependable satellite connectivity for commercial vessels, cargo ships, and offshore operations-enabling crew communication, operational efficiency, and safety across open waters.
Maritime customers will be able to connect to the Amazon Leo network using one of two compact, high-performance antenna designs: Amazon Leo Pro, an 11-inch antenna that delivers speeds up to 400 Mbps, and the more powerful Leo Ultra, which is capable of delivering download speeds up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds up to 400 Mbps. Both models are designed to operate seamlessly in demanding maritime environments.
Both ELCOME and MTN bring extensive satellite communications deployment experience, global engineering capabilities, and 24/7 support operations to serve their maritime customers adopting Amazon Leo technology.
ELCOME, a maritime technology provider with more than 55 years of industry experience, serves a fleet connectivity footprint of over 5,000 vessels globally. As an authorized reseller the company will offer Amazon Leo services to merchant shipping, offshore energy, commercial fishing, and yachting customers across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America.
MTN, a Florida-headquartered network operator with offices across Europe, the Middle East, and South America, specializes in converged connectivity solutions integrating multiple satellite and terrestrial networks. The company will be an authorized reseller of Amazon Leo in key maritime industries including commercial shipping, yachting, offshore operations, and ferry services.
Amazon Leo connectivity will provide maritime operators with satellite connectivity that improves network availability and options at sea, supporting enhanced operational efficiency, crew communications, and digital transformation initiatives aboard vessels worldwide.
