NGA Reaffirms Commitment to State Authority Over Elections

Following the White House Executive Order, the National Governors Association reaffirms its commitment to state authority over the administration of elections.

"America's election system is a model for the world and the bedrock of our 250-year-old democracy.

"The Constitution grants states the authority to administer elections, and governors take our Constitutional duty extremely seriously. State officials work diligently to ensure the integrity of every stage of the election process - from voter registration to vote tabulation.

"Voting is one of our most sacred rights and duties as Americans, and governors are dedicated to ensuring every eligible vote is cast securely and counted accurately."
