Police are looking for a witness who helped a 65-year-old woman after she was assaulted and robbed of her purse on the evening of October 31, 2025. The witness left prior to police arrival, and may have crucial information that could assist officers in identifying suspects.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., the victim was walking west on south sidewalk of Marion Street towards Des Meurons Street, when she was approached from behind and pulled to the ground. While on the ground, she was assaulted and her purse was stolen. She received minor injuries, however, did not require medical attention.

A witness who assisted the victim left before officers arrived, and police are now hoping to identify them to obtain additional details about the suspects.

Anyone who was in the area at this time and may have witnessed the robbery, or may have video surveillance or dash-cam footage, is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 204-986-6219, or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-TIPS or winnipegcrimestoppers.org
